Find the Music in YOU

Up Beat Music Therapy

Serving Northeastern Massachusetts and the Seacoast of New Hampshire since 2009

Music Therapy

Our community partners include memory care units, adult day programs, nursing centers, and hospitals. Person-centered and group-centered music therapy sessions help build on adult participants’ skills and lead to positive changes in mood, self-esteem, socialization, and creativity.

Entertainment

For our adult participants who have enhanced needs, these adaptive performances are sensory-friendly and dementia-friendly and promote participation or listening at any level. Participant-preferred music is used and musical suggestions are encouraged!

Music Appreciation

Through the lens of music therapy, these classes include exploration of music based on participant preferences. Classes might include lessons in traditional/world music, interactive biographies of musicians/composers, or genre exploration through presentation or group singing.

“Music is the only thing that makes me feel normal.”*

Music therapy is more than using music to reach a goal. Music can be a great normalizer, and can help to create an environment where human beings can be human together, even in our darkest moments.
